Opening Ceremony

The ceremony. September 24, 2026 at 7:00 PM, the cry that changes everything.

This year, the ritual begins a new chapter at Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via. Each year, a special guest has the honor of opening the first barrel. Following the tradition of Munich, where the city's mayor delivers the first strike to the cry of "O'zapft is!", in Barcelona a different personality each edition lives this unique moment. The tent fills with anticipation, conversations fade and everyone looks toward the stage. They know what's coming.

Mallet in hand, stein at the ready and barrel set, the guest takes to the stage. The first strike echoes through the entire tent. The cry is unleashed. And then, the explosion: applause, cheers, steins raised in unison and the first collective toast that marks the symbolic start of the celebration. A ritual repeated for over 200 years that here, in Barcelona, is lived with the same emotion, the same pride and the same shared joy.
